Inspirational Videos

We like the use of the green screen and the editing in this video. We hope to base our post-production on this video as it looks clever and modern and adds interest to what could be a simple or even boring video if it didn't include these clever screen cuts and movement of shots. In turn, this will help keep our music video looking upbeat and interesting.     We like the theme and mood of this music video so we will get our actress to dress like this and will age the video to give it a vintage feel. The 50s theme would really fit with our song and it would give an interesting twist to what would be a typical modern styled music video. This is probably the most important inspirational video as we are strongly basing the whole mood, theme and style on the ideas taken from this video. This video has lots of camera's around the artist (0.26) which is something we are interested in looking into, we also want to use the idea of blanking out the screen then wiping it away to reveal our actress (0.30). We think this would add something different to our video as it isn't expected and wouldn't really follow the conventions of an upbeat pop song with a 50s theme. This video also shows the cameras in the shot (0.50), it also has a lot of attitude and personality which is what we want Jenny to have. We want to portray her as a strong female trying to break out of the stereotypical 50s housewife image, she brings a bit of modernity to the theme, this attitude is inspired by this video. Beyonce used this as inspiration for her Countdown music video, it isn't the main feature but adds another dimension to it, it is interesting to see two totally different ideas mixed together into one video. We used this video to inspire our dance. We like the way it starts off as just a rehearsal then builds up to look life a professional performance. We want to add elements of both, using the rehearsal theme but adding stage lights to make it look jazzy and important. This video inspired us because of its sharp editing techniques which match the thought beats (1.02). We want to make sure our editing skills are sharp and crisp to make it look as professional as possible, it also makes the video look attractive as it flows and suits the music. From this video we have taken the idea of the projection over the artist (2.14). We want to use this for the slower parts of our song to give it a dreamy, relaxed feel, also making it a complete contrast to the rest of the video. Again, it would also add another element to our video so it wasn't all just plain and simple performing and straight-forward lip-syncing. At 3.10 the artist is dressed as a nerdy school girl, we would like to portray our actress like this at times for a literal interpretation of the lyrics. We will also do this with the teacher and preacher lyrics.
