Advert Draft

This is the draft of our advert as we know we have changes we still want to make, however it gives the basic idea of what we are trying to create. We have kept the fonts and images in keeping with the theme of the music video so it has a clear link between the two. We have tried to use colours which compliment the image yet fit in with both the retro 50s theme and modern conventions.

Rough Cut 3

As you can see we've filled in a lot of the gaps with different shots from both the diner and the studio. We made sure the shots we're snappy and in keeping with the song and the mood we want to portray. I hope you can start to see how our video is coming together to create the quirky 50s vibe we're aiming for.

Rough Cut 2

As you can see we have added more clips but there are still a lot of spaces. We tidied up some of the editing and changed some of the clips so they were in the right proportions. I experimented with fast paced editing to match the music towards the end. I like this effect and think we need to use more things like this to add interest. Although we have a long way to go I feel our music video is coming along well and we have a good idea of what we want to do with it.

Photoshop Tutorials

We used this tutorial as a guide to edit the photo for the magazine advert. This tutorial allowed us to edit the photo to give it a retro film roll camera effect to make it make a retro style image. We chose this effect as we went with the retro vintage theme for our music video which was an inspirational idea captured from the Beyonce 'Why dont you love me' video. The reason to choosing this theme was so it showed a strong portrayal of the strengths within females in the 50's era, portraying women power and strengths of individual females. This is the theme that we have aimed to portray as the subject matter in our video, so we found that this tutorial complimented efficiently, as it supplements towards portraying our subject matter to the target audience.

Text Tutorial

We used this tutorial to create a retro styled font to emphasis on the retro theme. The outcome to this tutorial was not as successful as we would have liked in regards to the final examples on the website. However we were still happy with the outcome of the text and liked the way it related to the style of our finished image for our advertisement.
